Alta Vista High School point guard Angel Martinez was honored by the Arizona Daily Star's annual Winter Basketball All Star list.
The list is a compilation of the best athletes in boys basketall. Selections were based on staff observations and collected statistics, in consultation with area coaches.
Angel was listed as an Honorable Mention player.
Angel averaged 18 points a game and was a team captain for our basketball team this year.
This is a tremendous honor for our school, basketball program, and for Angel.
Being recognized as one of the best in the city is the result of hard work, dedication, and talent. He is very deserving of this honor.
Alta Vista is very proud of this recognition.

Alta Vista Wins Award at Tucson Rodeo Parade!
Alta Vista High School's entry into the 2010 Tucson Rodeo parade was an award winner!
We were the only high school to win an award at the biggest non-mechanized parade in North America. Our participants were members of our extra-curricular activities on campus (Volleyball, Soccer, Basketball, Cheerleading). However, those students who were chosen are also members of our National Honor Society Chapter, Student Government, Prom Committee, Yearbook Committee, and Honor Roll. They represented Alta Vista High School with grace, pride, and a ton of Lobo Spirit!
A big "Lobo" thank you goes out to Maribel Hernandez for organizing this event! Great Job and Go Lobos!!
